...I'm no star wars nerd, but I just thought that was too funny!
First, being home is fab. I love seeing my sibs and such. I go to the mom work out in the morning with all these great ladies at this church building before they send their kids to school hahaha it's the best. Tuesday is step and it's pretty much my favorite. When school times rolls around, I'm home alone. It's the greatest weirdest thing. I can't explain it. I have actual free time! Sidenote: I read the most hilarical easy breeze through in a day book called "Brianna, my Brother, and the Blog." It's LDS fiction and has tons of BYU humor in it. It's extremely cheesy but I loved it.
I feel like since I've been home from school, I have become an extra clean freak. Maybe it's just because I sit in our house all day and have time to notice all the mess, but I just can't stand it! So today I did a deep clean of our kitchen (I believe it's worthy to pass a cleaning check from Mama K) and then I straightened up the front room and vacuumed. I feel so accomplished.
Okay so I actually went to third grade today with my mom and helped in her classroom! OH! And guess what?! She got the teacher of the year award today for her school! How cool is that? My mom is the BEST! I just have to brag about her because I know she won't. She was a lil embarrassed, but I was so happy for her! I hope I can be a fabulous, amazing, hard-working mom and teacher just like her someday. :) Anywho... third grade is louder than I remember it being. It's fun though, and I like the sneak peak of my future career. :)
So I went on a road trip to CALIFORNIA!!! It was a quick trip, but oh so fun! My brother Nick and I drove down with my grandparents on Friday. My grandpa was driving, and getting tired so my grandma reminded us that the only reason they brought us was so that we could entertain them. (She's so cute) So Nick and I made up this way ridiculous story about The Flight of Geronimo - this Italian mouse. You just had to be there. He has the funniest accents. I hope you can all meet him someday he makes me laugh so hard. So while I was in sunny CA, I had lunch with Becky and Nick at Chipotle! It was most delectable and oh so fun to be reunited after almost 9 long days being apart. Hahaha I love being a drama queen. But really. It just was so great. I don't know how to explain it. Becky help me out. We just pickd up right where we left off, ya know? Not that I thought we would never be friends or talk again. I just love that we are friends. This is borderline sappy and probably just boring you to tears so moving right along...I shook L. Tom Perry's hand! Yep. We had a nice lil chat. Probably a good 5 seconds. He asked me how school was going and if I was getting good grades. That is the scariest thing to have an apostle ask you about your academic performance let me just tell you. Wow. He was so nice and friendly though I loved his talk. (He was speaking at my Aunts Stake Conference) Becky and I went to this lovely senior musical fireside. I love church music! It reminded me a lot of EFY and Girls Camp and all those amazing spiritual boosting experiences. Monday morning, Nick and I set off on our own little adventure to road trip home. Yes. All by ourselves.
I felt so grown up. Our trusty Garmin GPS dealio turned out to be not so trusty. It was a rocky start finding out way back to the 99. We were definitely out in nowhere land driving by all these orchards and nothingness until I finally decided to turn around. I'm thinkin the GPS just thought there was some shortcut through the orchards or something but the road was blocked off. I really shold have just asked my aunt how to get back to the freeway. Oh well. We had fun! The rest of the trip was smooth sailing and fun :) We stopped at a few sketchy gas stations, ate lunch at a Taco Bell in Tehachapi, and then returned home safely Monday night. I've never driven for such a long period of time holy cow! This post is way long too.
Today is Nick's birthday. He is 17 and I just can't believe it. Jessie bear and I woke up to make him birthday pancakes for breakfast :) It was quite fun!
