Decisions

This is the talk that our Relief Society lesson was based on today. I loved it so much. We talked a lot about decisions and relying on the Lord to direct us. Revelation is amazing. Most of the sisters shared experiences about seeking revelation on where they should go to school or what major they should pursue. It's comforting to know that I was able to do that as well, and also that those decisions have been made. Even though I feel like for the most part I know what I'm doing, I've picked a college and all that jazz, it's just crazy to think that there are a million more things to decide on. I don't need to freak out about it because I know that when those decisions come I can turn to the Lord and He will guide me. I am so grateful for this gospel.

Fun Stuff

Okay this weekend was pretty rad. I got to see my roommate Kaylee and stay the night in Provo with her, I had my first Oakcrest meeting up in Murray, and managed to end up heading north on the freeway as I was trying to get home. Hahaha yeah I definitely wasn't laughing about it at the time, but I'm laughing now so it's all good :) Getting lost is very frustrating, but I'm pretty sure I'll never make that mistake again so there you go. Lesson learned.

So, I went up to Provo on Friday, randomly saw my friend Teri at the temple, borrowed a skirt from her and was able to go and do some baptisms with her. It was so good to see her and to go to the temple! She is my friend that had the brain tumor. Anyway, She just shared some really cool experiences with me that she's had and we had a really cool conversation about faith and how it's more than just trusting that things will work out but that it's submitting to the Lord's will and His timing too. I love the gospel!!!

I pretty much played phone tag with Kaylee all night but I finally got ahold of her and went to her house about 9 ish.

She is so fun! I have missed her so!

We watched the end of the Lakers vs. Maverick's game ha good 'ol basketball with the Worthens. Yep well after we watched the Lakers loose (that's a good thing) I watched my first ever Gilmore Girls episode and I LOVED it!!! :) SO cute. We started an episode of Psych, but I fell asleep...haha I felt bad but lately I just haven't been able to stay up past like 11. I think I'm getting old and boring. How sad. Kaylee was a wonderful host and I had a lot of fun :)

Oakcrest!!! I'm getting really anxious for it to start! I just want to get there so I'm not at home worrying about it ya know? Up until this point  I've been really excited and happy thinking that this is the perfect chill summer job camping all summer long and such. Well it has finally hit me that this is going to be no walk in the park. I'm worried about all the responsibility of being a good counselor for these girls. I just feel like there is a lot expected of me and I want to be prepared. Oh and I'm also remembering how it was to be 13 and awkward haha I want these cute lil beehives to know they are loved and that they are beautiful and talented and they should be happy! Yeah I haven't even met them yet and I'm already freaking out about different scenarios like the girl that is only there because her parents made her come or the girl who is homesick and is crying on day one or the shy girl that feels left out. It's just a lil nerve wracking. I'm still wayyyy excited about it though! Meeting all the other counselors was great. Somewhat intimidating, but I decided to get over it and embrace it. I felt a lil young, but I met two other girls who lived in Heritage Halls!

Oh and I got a new wolf shirt! Yay Wildlife Wednesday! :)

Two posts in one day, I know, kinda out of control, but I just played iPod idol with the fam. SOOO (O's x a million) hillarical! Oh dear I could laugh all night. I think the best part was when my mom sang "I'll Make A Man Out of You" from Mulan or maybe my Dad's rendition of "Part of Your World". Let's just say they got wayyy into it. It was definitely a hit. It just brought back good memories of iPod idol with the FHE bros. I miss them. Mucho.

May the Fourth Be With You :)

...I'm no star wars nerd, but I just thought that was too funny!

First, being home is fab. I love seeing my sibs and such. I go to the mom work out  in the morning with all these great ladies at this church building before they send their kids to school hahaha it's the best. Tuesday is step and it's pretty much my favorite. When school times rolls around, I'm home alone. It's the greatest weirdest thing. I can't explain it. I have actual free time! Sidenote: I read the most hilarical easy breeze through in a day book called "Brianna, my Brother, and the Blog." It's LDS fiction and has tons of BYU humor in it. It's extremely cheesy but I loved it.

I feel like since I've been home from school, I have become an extra clean freak. Maybe it's just because I sit in our house all day and have time to notice all the mess, but I just can't stand it! So today I did a deep clean of our kitchen (I believe it's worthy to pass a cleaning check from Mama K) and then I straightened up the front room and vacuumed. I feel so accomplished.

Okay so I actually went to third grade today with my mom and helped in her classroom! OH! And guess what?! She got the teacher of the year award today for her school! How cool is that? My mom is the BEST! I just have to brag about her because I know she won't. She was a lil embarrassed, but I was so happy for her! I hope I can be a fabulous, amazing, hard-working  mom and teacher just like her someday. :) Anywho... third grade is louder than I remember it being. It's fun though, and I like the sneak peak of my future career. :)

So I went on a road trip to CALIFORNIA!!! It was a quick trip, but oh so fun! My brother Nick and I drove down with my grandparents on Friday. My grandpa was driving, and getting tired so my grandma reminded us that the only reason they brought us was so that we could entertain them. (She's so cute) So Nick and I made up this way ridiculous story about The Flight of Geronimo - this Italian mouse. You just had to be there. He has the funniest accents. I hope you can all meet him someday he makes me laugh so hard. So while I was in sunny CA, I had lunch with Becky and Nick at Chipotle! It was most delectable and oh so fun to be reunited after almost 9 long days being apart. Hahaha I love being a drama queen. But really. It just was so great. I don't know how to explain it. Becky help me out. We just pickd up right where we left off, ya know? Not that I thought we would never be friends or talk again. I just love that we are friends. This is borderline sappy and probably just boring you to tears so moving right along...I shook L. Tom Perry's hand! Yep. We had a nice lil chat. Probably a good 5 seconds. He asked me how school was going and if I was getting good grades. That is the scariest thing to have an apostle ask you about your academic performance let me just tell you. Wow. He was so nice and friendly though I loved his talk. (He was speaking at my Aunts Stake Conference) Becky and I went to this lovely senior musical fireside. I love church music! It reminded me a lot of EFY and Girls Camp and all those amazing spiritual boosting experiences. Monday morning, Nick and I set off on our own little adventure to road trip home. Yes. All by ourselves.

I felt so grown up. Our trusty Garmin GPS dealio turned out to be not so trusty. It was a rocky start finding out way back to the 99. We were definitely out in nowhere land driving by all these orchards and nothingness until I finally decided to turn around. I'm thinkin the GPS just thought there was some shortcut through the orchards or something but the road was blocked off. I really shold have just asked my aunt how to get back to the freeway. Oh well. We had fun! The rest of the trip was smooth sailing and fun :) We stopped at a few sketchy gas stations, ate lunch at a Taco Bell in Tehachapi, and then returned home safely Monday night. I've never driven for such a long period of time holy cow! This post is way long too.

Today is Nick's birthday. He is 17 and I just can't believe it. Jessie bear and I woke up to make him birthday pancakes for breakfast :) It was quite fun!
